Stop Focusing On Your Goals And Focus On This Instead

Every year, you set new goals for yourself.

You set a goal to lose 20 pounds. You set a goal to become a New York Times’ bestselling author. You set a goal to make $5,000 per month.

But time and time again, they never work out.

It feels like you’re Sisyphus trying to push the boulder up the hill, but never making any progress.

It‘s frustrating.

But here’s the thing about success: It’s not enough to just be focused on your goals. Instead, what you need to be focused on is your systems.

In the book “Atomic Habits” best-selling author James Clear explains the difference:

“Goals are about the results you want to achieve. Systems are about the processes that lead to those results.”

For example, losing 20 pounds is a goal. Learning to eat right is a system. And systems always trump goals.

Therefore, if you want to achieve extraordinary results in every area of your life, then you need to learn to upgrade your systems for living.
